US Weekend & Holiday Plans
Since we will be staying in Illinois for six months, we plan to go around the country as well as cross the border to visit Canada.
Our plan includes visiting the following cities: New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, Las Vegas, Orlando, Toronto as well as Vancouver. We are trying to see if we can visit these cities during weekends and holidays. Although we have friends and relatives who can offer us free accommodation in San Diego, San Jose and Orlando, we will have to book ourselves in hotels when we visit the other cities.
Of course, since visiting all these cities will definitely require us to spend; we really have to be wise in searching for the best deals. Our relatives in the States suggested that we search the internet for hotel discounts. One recommended site is HotelReservations.com.
HotelReservations.com has been very helpful in searching for the lowest rates for hotels. For example, we plan to celebrate my birthday by spending a weekend in New York City this August but we’re looking at a probable budget of not more than $110.00 per night in a hotel room. I searched the site and was able to find a hotel that could give us a rate of $107.00 per night and this is located only two blocks away from Madison Square Garden! Not bad, right?
The website also gives us an option to avail of vacation packages that will give us an option to have a special price on hotel bookings with transportation. No hassle for us if we need to book a hotel, flight and car for our weekend vacations.
For now, we’re still busy packing our things for our flight out of Manila this April. We will start to finalize our weekend plans and trips as soon as we are settled in our Illinois home. On top of taking care of the household and our baby, I will also be busy planning our trips. Exciting!
