Alternating Paracetamol & Ibuprofen

A local health magazine featured the use of ibuprofen and paracetamol in treating a child's fever. It suggested administering the two drugs alternately. This was based on a study in the British Medical Journal.

I don't know about you but I don't think that it was very responsible of them to print this piece. Moms who don't know better might self-medicate their children using the magazine as reference.

Although paracetamol and ibuprofen are known to be harmless drugs, it is still wiser to consult the pediatrician before giving anything to children, especially those who are between 6 months to 2 years old.

Magazines, especially the ones that touch on health, should be more careful in publishing topics. Although they may have a smarter target audience, they can never be certain about the effect of articles on their readers.

The readers should be more cautious about what they read as well.
