Hectic Weekend, Yea?

The past weekend was so hectic for our family!

We flew to Canada last June 19 at 8:30 in the evening. We arrived at Toronto around 11:30pm then we went to our relatives' home which was 30 mins away from the airport. Once we got to their house, of course, we didn't sleep yet. We chatted the night away until the wee hours of the morning. 3:30 am, to be exact.

It was our daughter's 1st birthday the next day, June 20th, and we had a simple lunch celebration. Bought a cake at Loblaw's and chicken at KFC. MIL made Filipino-style sweet spaghetti for her grandbaby. Although we were only 11 when we celebrated her 1st birthday, we really did have fun. After lunch we went to the den for a little karaoke/videoke and I sneaked into the bedroom for a 1-hour nap. After dinner we headed off to meet up with Canada-based friends at Club 300, a local bowling alley. I think we got home at 1am.

The next day it was our nephew's baptism so we had to wake up early to be on time for the ceremony since I was going to be her godmother. After the ceremony, of course, there was lunch at their house. After lunch, a few friends took us around downtown Toronto. We were in downtown until around 1130pm. We got home around midnight. Slept at 1am.

On June 22 we went to Niagara Falls. I was actually surprised that Niagara was actually a small town. Just like Gold Coast in Australia. The atmosphere was very festive there. Niagara Falls was simply breathtaking. We left the area around 5:30pm to have dinner at a friend's place. We left their house around 10:30pm. Got home around 11:00pm. Then we started packing for our flight the next day.

Our flight was at 5:30pm on June 23. So we had to be at the airport at 3:30pm. Our cousins brought us to this Japanese order-all-you-can-eat restaurant a few minutes from their place. We were so stuffed that I wanted my husband to roll me out. Haha! Anyway, we were back in their place by 3:00 and we were only able to leave for the airport by 3:30pm. We were at the airport by 4:00pm and we were informed that the flight got delayed to 6:30pm. So we flew back to Chicago and arrived at O'Hare International Airport at 7:30pm.

It's a miracle none of us got sick during the 4 days out-of-town. It was hectic and tiring but definitely fun and exciting. Just don't ask me if I want to do it again. Haha!
