The Bulimic - Part 2
Continuation....
Yesterday was a sunny day so I decided to take my daughter out. At the village square across the street.
So I strapped her into her stroller and went to the washroom for a few seconds. As soon as I walked towards the washroom, she started crying. Then she stuck her fingers into her mouth and then started gagging. I ignored her because I knew that she was acting again and once I unstrap her, she'd give me that mischievous smile saying she'd gotten her way again. Then just before we were about to leave, she threw up. On her sweater, shirt and pants. Her stroller got wet too.
Of course, I panicked but had the presence of mind not to show her. Instead, I talked to her in a very firm tone. I gave her a long, stern lecture while removing her clothes. I showed her the stained pants while saying, "See what you did? You threw up on your pants. Now Mommy needs to wash it again." Surprisingly, it seemed that she understood what I was saying. She sobbed a little and tried putting my arms around her for a hug while I was talking. Yeah. Kawawa.
Anyway, I think the lecture worked. Because when we went to the store, she attempted to do "The Bulimic" on me again but stopped when I looked her in the eye and said firmly, "Do you want Mommy to talk to you again? If not, stop that." Guess what? She stopped. Success.
"The Firm Tone" is more powerful than "The Bulimic".
